Apply for Membership

Step 1: Understand that in applying for ULU Membership means you are making a decision to become an equal participant and Member in an Economic Development Organization; Us Lifting Us Inc.  You are expected to know and be guided by ULU governing documents.

Step 2: Apply for ULU Membership by completing the online application below or by printing a paper application and mailing to ULU along with a check or money order.

Membership Agreement:

1. The undersigned (hereinafter called applicant) hereby applies for Membership in Us Lifting Us Inc. (hereinafter called ULU).
2. The applicant affirms that he or she is a person of Black African Descent; as these are the persons and class for whom membership in ULU is reserved
3. The applicant agrees to pay a yearly membership fee of $50 to remain qualified to participate in the governance process of the organization.
4. It is understood that only ULU Members (and not the public) are able to join and take advantage of opportunities to secure ownership equity in ULU affiliated business organizations.
5. Applicant agrees to comply with and be bound by ULU by-laws and any amendments thereto, and such policies and regulations as may be adopted from time to time and agree to promote the best interests of the Organization.
6. Upon acceptance of this application by the ULU Board of Directors (along with membership fee), the applicant will be a Member in ULU with such rights and responsibilities as are specified in the by-laws of ULU. Applicant, by becoming a member, assumes no personal liability or responsibility for any debts or liabilities of ULU and it is expressly understood that, under law, their private property cannot be attached for any such debts or liabilities.
7. Members are encouraged to volunteer time and expertise, and to be patrons of ULU businesses.
